I backpacked the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine in 2014. During my hike, I kept a trail journal at trailjournals.com/guy, posting updates and pictures from my phone when I had good cell phone coverage.

My wife’s parents were not very computer savvy, and I wanted them to have a hard copy. The cheapest way for me to get them a hard copy with color pictures was to publish it on Amazon, and buy author copies for 12 bucks!

The minimum Amazon price for others was over $20, so I also made a Kindle copy. You can buy the Kindle version on Amazon for their minimum price of $2.99, or upload the pdf version to your Kindle since their file upload software won’t accept my epub file size.
